Did you know Sunshine Coast Smile Centre is a leading Dental Implant Centre of Excellence on the Sunshine Coast?
Many general dentists place dental implants. But not all have the knowledge and experience equivalent to the team at Sunshine Coast Smile Centre.
Dr Jon Kerr, Dr Tony Caiafa and Dr Annie Walker have all undergone extensive training in placing and restoring dental implants.
Together they have over 55 combined years of dental experience and are all available at our dental implant centre.
They all attend regular continuing education too. Ensuring they stay up to date with all the latest developments in dental implant treatments. As well as technologies and clinical developments too.
So What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant, also known teeth implants, are the most successful treatment available for replacing a single or multiple missing teeth. They are identical to your natural teeth in appearance, feel and function.
Dental implants can also be used to help retain loose dentures.
An implant is a medical-grade titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone and acts as a substitute for a missing tooth root.
Through a process called osseointegration it integrates naturally with the bone prior to the fitting of a crown, bridge or fixed denture.
A permanent solution for missing teeth, dental implants have a wide range of other benefits including helping to retain bone structure and restoring your bite.
They also improve the overall appearance of your smile and can even help reduce the appearance of premature ageing and wrinkles.
Contact us at our Dental Implant Centre for an appointment so we can discuss this procedure.
What is involved in Dental Implant?
A consultation is required prior to any dental implant treatment. At this appointment your options will be discussed in detail and a tailored treatment plan outlining all costs will be provided.
The procedure to place a dental implant is painless and is completed under a local anaesthetic at our Cotton Tree practice.
8-12 weeks after placing the implant the osseointegration process is checked at a review appointment. This is normally 8-12 weeks after placing the implant.
When ready to proceed with restoring the dental implant with a porcelain crown or bridge an impression is taken and the crown or bridge is fitted the following week.
Your porcelain crown or bridge will be colour matched to your other existing teeth and will look like a natural tooth.
At Sunshine Coast Smile Centre we also choose to place Neoss dental implants. These are one of the world's leading implant systems.
What is the cost of dental Implant?
At your initial consultation appointment in our Dental Implant Centre of Excellence, all costs involved in your treatment will be outlined. We will also discuss your payment options.
From the time the implant is placed to when the porcelain crown or bridge is fitted can often be several months. The total cost of your dental implant treatment can be spread out over this timeframe.
Dental Warranty
Warranties for dental treatment are not routinely offered by all dentists. At Sunshine Coast Smile Centre we believe in the importance of providing a dental warranty. This is the case for all work completed at our practice.
Moreover maintaining an oral health maintenance routine is important. By attending regular dental exams it allows us to monitor your dental implant. As well as your overall oral health too.
This enables us to diagnose potential issues early.
