Dr Anthony Caiafa, like all the dentists at Sunshine Coast Smile Centre, is a highly skilled and experienced practitioner.
He has all have the knowledge to help patients of all ages achieve and maintain optimum oral health.
However Dr Anthony Caiafa is uniquely skilled in more ways than one.
He is one of the few people in Australia who is both a qualified dentist as well as vet and has over 15 years of experience in both disciplines.
About Dr Anthony Caiafa
Tony graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1978. After working as a full time vet for 16 years he chose to study dentistry.
Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1998 and was also dux of his year. The award given to the highest-ranking student.
Since joining Sunshine Coast Smile Centre in 2012 Tony has developed a strong rapport with his patients and aims to provide the highest quality of care.
Known for his gentle and caring manner, Tony ensures every visit is as comfortable as possible. He also ensures his patients are fully aware of what is happening. He does this by explaining their treatment in a way that can be easily understood.
Tony still enjoys treating four legged patients and treats animals by referral as a dental specialist for the North Coast Veterinary Practice. He also lecturers vet students at James Cook University in Townsville.

Tony regularly attends continuing education and also professional development courses as well to stay up to date with the latest developments and technologies in dentistry.
Tony has a keen interest in the following procedures and performs them regularly:

– Porcelain crowns and bridges
– Extractions (including wisdom teeth)
– Root canal treatment
– Fissure sealants
– Dental implants
These treatments are all completed onsite at our Maroochydore based practice using state-of-the-art technology.
